We accept the following files: PDF: Saved at the highest resolution, with crop marks and bleeds. InDesign: Packaged and zipped. Photoshop: All images and fonts flattened as one layer. Illustrator EPS: All images and fonts converted to outlines and embedded. Corel Draw 12: All fonts and images converted to curves. TIFF: 350 DPI or 175 line screen JPEG: High resolution, 350 DPI To ensure accuracy and efficiency, we do not like to accept the following file types or programs: Quark Xpress, Publisher, Page Maker, Word (other than for content), Power Point. If a file in one of the previous formats is submitted you will have additional typesetting costs, if you are unsure what is acceptable, please call the office. Specifications for standard offset jobs: CMYK colour format - NOT RGB Minimum resolution is 350 DPI Bleed of 0.125 inches on all sides. For example if your finished size is 4 x 6, design the piece at 4.25 x 6.25 No critical information in the bleed area or at the edge of the clip area For example if your finished size is 4 x 6, your information should be in an area of 3.75 x 5.75 Images are high resolution and in CMYK colour format If using spot colour, please specify pantone number Specifications for digital jobs: Digital printing is subject to a $10 set up fee CMYK colour format - NOT RGB Minimum resolution is 350 DPI Bleed of 0.25 inches on all sides. For example if your finished size is 4 x 6, design the piece at 4.5 x 6.5 No critical information in the bleed area or at the edge of the clip area For example if your finished size is 4 x 6, your information should be in an area of 3.5 x 5.5 Images are high resolution and in CMYK colour format Rich Black: If you are using black in your card design and it is being printed full colour, use the following formula to get a rich black colour. Using this formula will give your card a more vibrant black colour and will help to make your finished product look its very best. Do not use rich black on text or gradients, text should only be 100% black. 100% Black 40% Cyan 10% Magenta 10% Yellow If we receive your files and they are not to the required printing specifications, a representative will call you as soon as possible so that you may make the changes and re-submit your artwork. We will not make any changes to submitted files.

All your files should be CMYK. The printing world operates in subtractive color, or CMYK mode. Cyan, magenta and yellow are subtractive colors; when printed on white paper, they absorb the light shining on the page. Since our eyes receive no reflected light from the paper, we perceive black. The K component in CMYK printing is used to indicate black instead of a B to avoid possible confusion over Blue ink. Every file submitted for production will include a full pre-flight analysis to identify issues that will prevent your project from looking how you want it to. We will then produce PDF proofs for you to review and approve before your job is run. It is much easier for all involved if you are aware up front that minor adjustments may be made to your files to ensure smooth transfers to the printing plates. It is critical you carefully check for changes made to your designs during proofing stages.


Additive color, or RGB mode, is optimized for display on computer monitors. If we combine red, green and blue light you will get white light. This is the principle behind the T.V. set in your living room and the monitor you are staring at now.
